The Big Question
The Perfect Day
My wedding day as a whole was a blur. A fun, overwhelming, stormy blur. It was the best day of my life, but also one of my most stressful. The morning started out great. It was a little cloudy, but we were hopeful about the weather, my bridesmaids were all buzzing with excitement, and all my vendors were showing up as scheduled. We had a blast getting ready and taking pictures with Audrey. Then things started to get hectic.
We had planned to walk over to the venue, but the storm had other plans for us. My dad ended up having to take two trips to the venue with his car filled with bridesmaids and then had to walk each of us into the venue individually with an umbrella. It was kind of a mess. Once we were there it was even more of a blur.
Paul and I had our first look which I am so thankful for. I was pretty anxious about the weather and I needed to see him so that I could remember what our wedding day was actually about. I instantly felt better knowing that no matter how hard it rained, by the end of the day we would be married. Our ceremony was wonderful; short and sweet, but meaningful. Since we did a first look, Paul and I were able to join the cocktail hour. We greeted a lot of our guests and then were formally introduced once the reception started.
Our reception was a blast! We had so much fun dancing with our family and friends. We did have to leave a little early due to the storm, but we certainly did not miss out on any fun! I'm so thankful for our beautiful wedding and for all our amazing friends and family who braved the storm to celebrate with us.
