Chloe & Nathan

The Big Question

Nathan and I first met when I was home from university for Christmas. The proposal was something I could only ever have dreamt of. He surprised me on Christmas Eve of 2015 with an early 21st birthday present, a trip  to New York to celebrate New Year's Eve!

Whilst in New York Nathan had planned so many amazing excursions. We took a horse carriage ride around Central Park where Nathan proposed! We chose the ring together straight after (Nathan knows how fussy I am being an Interior designer) it was such a lovely experience and something we will always treasure together. The store even engraved the proposal date and NYC inside the band, which was such a nice touch.

Looking for my dream wedding dress was a lot easier than I thought. I have always loved Augusta Jones and I saw a photograph of the Karen gown online and I just couldn't think of any thing else. As soon as I stepped into the dress I knew it was the one.

The scalloped neckline with eyelash lace detail was just exquisite and with 3/4 sleeves was just perfect.  I just knew this was "the dress". I could not believe that the first wedding dress I tried on was "the one".

The Perfect Day

Well what can I say. It was a perfect day start to finish. The weather was glorious, the hottest day of the year! The sky was so blue, not a cloud in slight. The sun was shining not something you can guarantee in Wales! I was calm on the morning of the wedding, but also a little nervous. I could not wait to see Nathan at the end of the aisle and to marry by best friend. The ceremony was beautiful and personal. Our vicar christened me in my home parish as a baby.

Living not far from the beach we took the opportunity to have photographs there, before going to our reception venue. My mum had given me her parasol  from her wedding day, it was a lovely touch to have photographs with it just like my parents had. It was great to cherish the moment with each other before celebrating with all our family and friends at the venue.

Our reception venue was at the Towers Hotel, Swansea Bay. We actually celebrated our surprise engagement meal there with our family. We loved the location and the grounds of the Hotel. The food was always amazing which I think is an important factor. We always wanted a summer wedding. Our day was intimate with all the people dearest to us present. A day of laughter and happiness.

Wise Words

It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the details and wedding planning, but just trust that your wedding day will arrive and it will be beautiful simply because you're committing to love someone for the rest of your life and getting to celebrate with friends and family!

Enjoy every single second of your wedding day it flies by. I wish I could replay it over and over again!

Remember that ultimately, you are preparing to marry the man of your dreams - not just planning a wedding!
