Cortney & Brad

The Big Question

In October 2015 we were on vacation at Walt Disney World and had reservations for dinner inside Cinderella's Castle. We got perfect seats by the window to have dinner and watch the fireworks. After the main course, the waiter said he was bringing over a dessert menu, but instead of a dessert menu he brought over a silver platter and lifted up the lid.

There was a bed of rose petals and a glass slipper, then brad got down on one knee and proposed. Everyone in the castle was standing up cheering for us. It was literally like a fairytale. Brad hired a photographer to capture the moments, then we had champagne and dessert as we watched the fireworks.

Shop 'Til You Drop

I wanted a princess dress, and tried a few shops in NH but had no luck so I asked all my family to come to NYC with me for the weekend to go to Kleinfeld. I never would have thought I would actually buy my dress there! But I did! I tried at least 10 dresses on and none of them felt like the right dress, I thought I wanted a strapless champagne coloured dress.

My mom suggested that I try on a white dress with straps. And of course, moms are always right! The next dress I tried on, I fell in love with. It was perfect and went beautifully with a tiara and long veil.

The Perfect Day

Our wedding day was a fairytale, the entire theme was an elegant Disney fairytale, with hints of disney, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. I hand-wrote our vows using Disney quotes and lyrics. The centrepieces I handmade had a gold cinderella Carriage, with twinkling lights, red and white roses and a glass slipper. The cake said "Happily Ever After" with hidden mickeys. Our sweetheart table centrepiece had a candelabra, like Lumiure from Beauty and the Beast. Every detail was well thought through!

Growing up on a lake in NH, I wanted a backyard ceremony. So we put up tents and chairs with hopes of no rain. The morning of it was lightly raining right after our first look pictures but the sky cleared up in time for me to walk down the aisle! After the cocktail hour we got on our Malibu boats and had a boat send off to the reception, where a limo was waiting for us at the other end of the lake.

We then went to the Radisson hotel which looks like a castle. We had an amazing time and all our guests were out on the dance floor! Our first dance was to Beauty and the Beast's 'Tale as Old as Time'. After that, we kicked the night off with some great food and then spent the rest of the night on the dance floor!

Wise Words

ENJOY IT! Everything goes by so fast, I was so stressed out during the rehearsal and the morning of, try not to stress out and just enjoy your time with friends and family! Things will go wrong, timelines will get messed up but you just have to go with the flow!
