Priscilla & Jordan

The Big Question

In December 2016, Jordan and I were celebrating our one-year anniversary, and he had asked me out to dinner at Santana Row, a premiere destination in Silicon Valley for shopping, living, and particularly dining.

I was suspicious about the location, since we had our very first date at Santana Row's Village California Bistro four years earlier. What made me extra-suspicious that the proposal was going to be that particular weekend in December 2016 was Jordan’s brother coming into town from Hong Kong.

I also made an appointment at the Blow Dry Bar in Santana Row to get my hair done, and Jordan was more than willing to take me there before dinner. At that point, I knew a proposal was very likely! After my Blow Dry Bar appointment, we went to walk around Santana Row. It was 6:30pm, and dinner reservations weren't until 7pm. When we walked inside the restaurant, the manager greeted us with a huge smile and seemed especially helpful and accommodating. He then sat us outside, where there was only one table set with one folded menu on the table.

At first, I thought the ring was going to be inside of the menu, so I opened the menu slowly. As I opened the last fold of the menu, Jordan got down on one knee with the ring. Instead of the usual list of food and drink items, the menu said in big letters, “Will you marry me?” At that moment, a photographer came out of nowhere (just as Jordan planned!) and started taking our pictures, while the restaurant manager returned with a bottle of champagne! It was an unforgettable and magical moment.

Shop 'Til You Drop

My dress hunt was very special, as it was bonding time for my future mother-in-law and I. Our journey to find the perfect dress started roughly a year before the wedding. We searched numerous stores in San Jose, but they did not have the type of dress I was looking for. I am a big fan of romantic bohemian chic. My mother and father-in-law were taking an evening stroll one evening in downtown Los Gatos, and they came across Haute Bride. They went in just to see what inventory they had to report back to me. My mother-in-law saw the Augusta Jones Lela dress on one of the racks. Knowing my style, she thought this would be the perfect dress! After that, it was her mission to get me into Haute Bride to see this magnificent dress.

A month later, I finally listened to her and went with her while we were walking my pug, Puggy Sue. We went into the store to try a few dresses on (Puggy Sue included!) Thankfully, the store was really nice about having Puggy there with us. I tried on many dresses that day, including Lela. The moment I tried it on, I felt so amazing in it. The beautiful details in the lace, the color (a beautiful ivory). I tried it on three times, and I didn’t want to take it off!! My mother-in-law was teary-eyed, and that is how I picked my beautiful Augusta Jones Lela gown!

The Perfect Day

Our wedding was on New Year’s Eve 2017 at the Oceano Hotel and Spa in Half Moon Bay. Jordan and I really wanted two main things for the wedding; to be by the ocean and to have lots of personal touches. Oceano offers a beautiful view of the water and boats cruising by, and luckily the wedding gods graced us on that December day with beautiful weather, to enjoy our ceremony outside!

All of our personal touches went off without a hitch, from our pug as a ring bearer, to our choreographed first dance mash-up that we practiced for months, to my singing The Carpenters' "Close to You." It was the best day of our lives, and what a way to start the new year as man and wife!

Wise Words

Enjoy the moment! This is a day for you. It goes by so fast, so be happy and have fun! And, don’t forget to eat!
