Nerys & Rhodri

The Big Question
We were going on holiday to Reykjavik, Iceland and Rhodri suggested we stop off for some food on the way to the airport at a favourite place of ours. Unknowingly and being in no rush that evening I had decided to cook a meal for us at home. So Rhodri had to improvise and insisted we still stopped at Bath Spa for a drink as it would be a relaxing start to our trip.

I still had no clue and when my hot chocolate arrived on the coaster was a spoon engraved with ‘A wnei di fy mhridoi i?’ (‘Will you marry me?’ in Welsh). I was totally blown away and ecstatic. Bath Spa is such a special place for us as this is where we had our first weekend away together. The spoon is now in a box frame in our home and is a wonderful keep sake.

Shop 'Til You Drop
Mum and I had a fabulous time visiting different bridal boutiques. I tried on every shape and design from the most glitzy of dresses to the large statement ball gowns. We laughed and enjoyed so much, precious memories with my mother that I'll cherish forever.

We visited Huw Rees Bridal in Llandeilo where I returned to try on the very first dress I had liked. I felt truly amazing in it and knew instantly that that was the dress for me!

The Perfect Day

The morning seemed to fly by quickly but I remember it like yesterday especially when certain scents take me back to that time. Our service was wonderful with a ceremony shared with just over 100 guests in the same church that my parents were married 45 years ago. After the Singing, readings and the ‘I do’s’ we headed down the West Wales coast for our reception at The Cliff Hotel & Spa.

A perfect venue with a stunning backdrop for our special day. The sun was shining as we enjoyed breath taking views over Cardigan Bay and the Pembrokeshire Coast. Having a background in Graphic design I did all the wedding stationary myself. The tables, seating plan and children’s section were tailored to us and what we wanted. The day was just perfect and made so special as we watched the sunset over the bay and danced the night away with our family and friends.

Wise Words
Treat yourself to a special item for your wedding day, other than dress, such as perfume, shoes or a bag. Although I can’t wear my dress again, I love wearing my wedding shoes on any special occasions.
