Lauren & Ben

The Big Question

The proposal took me completely by surprise. Ben and I met in New York to begin a month long trip to the US. We had been apart for 10 weeks due to work commitments and an engagement was far from my mind, I was just so excited to finally be together! We spent the morning walking through Central Park and in a quiet spot Ben asked me to be his wife!

Shop 'Til You Drop

We travelled to my home in Scotland to spend Christmas with my family a few months after our engagement. I took the opportunity to arrange a bridal appointment with my Mum and best friend as I now live in Australia. I had found the Augusta Jones Yasmin dress online and had shown the picture to my friend as my dream dress.

On arriving at Anne Priscilla Bridal I felt totally overwhelmed. My consultant asked what I was looking for, I gave a vague description of simple, flowing (and definitely not strapless!) and Yasmin was amongst the choices.

I loved the flattering shape of the dress, the way it moved, and how I felt in the dress. It had to be 'The One'!

The Perfect Day

The day itself was relaxed and fun. We kept things simple and strayed away from some of the more formal and traditional aspects, such as deciding not to have a bridal party. We really just wanted to celebrate each other with our friends and family and we felt we made the day our own.

Our venue was stunning and every little detail was taken care of, we had nothing to do but enjoy the day. It was perfect for us and we loved every second!

Wise Words

It is such a special and exciting time as a couple, remember to enjoy it! It can be easy to get caught up in the details and there will be stresses along the way, but if at the end of it all you and your new husband are married then it will all have gone perfectly!
