Molly & Conor

The Big Question

Conor told me that we were going to look at art for my Christmas present. I had followed one local artist in particular for awhile, and Conor knew how much I loved her work. I was hoping to get one of her paintings if possible. We went to a art small gallery and I quickly noticed we were the only ones there.

After a brief look around, I saw a picture by the artist that I loved. I ran to the painting and noticed that words were hidden within the painting. After a minute of scanning the picture, the question "Will you marry me?" became apparent and Conor proposed.

Afterwards, we had dinner at in town in a restaurant's wine cellar, and then went back to my family's home to celebrate with family and friends. The proposal was so thoughtful and I will forever be impressed by his creativity!

Shop 'Til You Drop

I wanted a timeless dress. I did not want anything too trendy or bold; I just wanted a beautiful, romantic dress that would make me feel like a bride. Upon my arrival to The White Magnolia, I was instantly drawn to the Augusta Jones gowns.

All were stunning, but the Keira gown was perfect. The dress had the lace detail on the train that I love. I especially love how Augusta Jones allows brides to customize their gowns. We added bridal buttons down the back of my dress, per my mom's suggestion, for a special touch.

The Perfect Day

Our wedding day was a dream. My family, my bridesmaids, and I got ready at my parents' home. The morning was full of laughter and excitement. The "first look" was on a beautiful gravel road just around the corner from the church. I approached Conor with his back was turned, tapped him on the shoulder, and from then on, I felt an overwhelming sense of love and joy as we lived the day.

Our ceremony took place at the church I grew up going. As our first act as a married couple, we helped serve communion to our guests. It was so special! After the ceremony, we went back to my family’s home for the reception. We enjoyed southern cuisine and cocktails, and danced the night away. It was the best day of our lives!

Wise Words

My best words of advice are to set aside some time to dream about your perfect wedding day with your significant other. Talk about what is important to you, how to personalize your wedding, and be creative! Conor and I sketched our dream backyard wedding on a piece of notebook paper at a restaurant after our engagement and it ended up coming to life on June 2, 2018.
