Grace & Sean

The Big Question

Sean planned a weekend away in the Peak District in Derbyshire, near where I grew up. We went to stay in a lovely B&B where we had stayed on our first ever weekend away.

We set out on a long walk and along the way we sat down in a quiet spot on the side of a hill with only sheep for company! We talked for a long time and then eventually he got down on one knee.

Shop 'Til You Drop

My dress was the first one I tried on in the beautiful Frances Day Bridal shop. I loved how graceful this dress was, but it also had a relaxed feel about it which went with the day perfectly. I knew when I tried it on that this was the one for me.

The Perfect Day

The day was very relaxed with lots of happiness and fun. We wanted to create a rustic vibe so we filled the tipi with flowers, outdoor games, homemade signs, a massive cheese tower, strings of photos and a DIY gin bar.

The guests could play a game of boules, mix their own gin cocktail or just grab a blanket and sit in the sunshine!

Wise Words

Make the most of every moment of the planning as well as the day itself, as it goes so fast! In the lead up to the wedding we spent time in antique shops picking up old aluminium churns and chalkboards to decorate the tipi, as well as tasting different gins and picking up a bottle as we found one we liked! We grew lots of flowers in the garden and filled the tipi with hydrangeas, cosmos and dahlias.

The planning was such a huge part of the wedding for me so when it all came together on the day it felt that little bit more special.
